Since Windows 7, MS keeps making these update complaints exponentially increase year after year.We just lost over 325 man-hours of work even though we followed all the official steps to delay the updates. We were in the middle of a massive data recovery requiring many explorer instances to simultaneously be open. The unwanted update killed all of our work. To put this in perspective, we have over 20KW of UPS to avoid any possibility of a system going down during one of our recovery jobs. Yet, Windows 10 circumvented every backup measure we have. This β€œwasβ€ our biggest case in 7 years.MS, please stop digging your own grave. Came in original OEM packaging.The activation key was covered with a little Microsoft sticker. Took me a bit to figure that out. It peeled off pretty easily but would suggest using extra care so as not to accidentally destroying the activation key.after installation, noticed that the default time is set for Dublin, Ireland. The date on the taskbar is in the DD/MM/YYYY format which is obviously a little confusing. Haven’t figured out how to change it to US display.also, it displays a boot menu on start up asking to choose Win 10 or Win 7.
The label which the product ID also states that it is not a COA . Worthless for anyone who wants to leave work open as Windows will frequently reboot without your permission. Worst operating system ever made for this reason alone. Bad enough that the Home version does this, but not even having any control with Pro is absurd. Microsoft had to get involved to upgrade Windows 10 to PRO. I resisted giving up my Windows Pro 7 OS, but I really love how intuitive it seems to get around in this OS version, this is a keeper. It’s not like you get much of a choice if you own a PC. This helps Microsoft to send you more spam and make older versions of Office do weird things so you might be tempted to buy Office 365 and pay an annual subscription. Windows 10 is good OS. It’s AOL for the 21st century. Just go back and look at the ads for AOL and you’ll agree. I do enjoy the touch screen interface as it actually works unlike with WIN 7. I am still getting used to everything being isolated for security reasons. Keyforrest says I can’t return. Can’t get a refund. Have not had a problem with this. I personally prefer to have the disc as it is something tangible I can keep track of rather than worry about saving an email with my product key in it. This product key does not work and keyforrest provides no means of contacting them to cancel or order. The provided key isn’t fake but is actually a downgrade on instead of an upgrade one. Those that reported successful install via β€œextraβ€ instructions should verify the actual edition since this process will result in successful activation but an actual Home edition install. Windows 10 represents everything bad with Microsoft these days. Ads, ridiculous update preference lockdowns, arbitrary timeouts. β€ Do yourself a favor and find/buy a Win7 key somewhere and stick with it until the madness dies down.
I loaded Windows 10 over the internet on two Lenovo T410 laptops and it took hours to download. This version was on a USB drive, and even though my Dell Latitude E6410 only has USB 2.0 ports, only took 20 minutes to load and install. I had no problems with video drivers. Old operating system was XP so just did a fresh install without trying to save any apps or data. Well the code came in a few hours but in the event I didn’t need it. The seller sent a very helpful email with highlighted links to download the product. I did so and it worked perfectly. I had had to do a factory reset so lost the free Windows 10 upgrade we all had which I’d forgotten about. Therefore was a bit freaked by possibilities of malware but working f
